The Love Story
Anai and Walter’s story began long before their first date. Through mutual friends, their lives had been intertwined for years - his two best friends from high school eventually married her two best friends. By the time they officially began dating in July 2022, their connection felt effortless and immediate.
Despite spending their first year together long-distance - she in Pittsburgh, he in Rochester - the distance only strengthened their connection. Late-night FaceTime calls and frequent weekend drives quickly became part of their rhythm, reinforcing what they both already felt: their relationship was something special.
In December 2023, shortly after she moved back home so they could begin building their future together, Walter planned a proposal she would never forget. Under the guise of a photoshoot with a photographer she had long admired, the moment unfolded unexpectedly. As she turned around in the middle of a pose, she found him down on one knee. Through joyful tears and the crisp December cold, they finished the shoot before celebrating the exciting news with their closest friends and family.

Wedding Location
Well before the proposal ever happened, one venue had already captured her imagination: The Sterling at Arrowhead.
Its striking industrial-modern architecture and expansive open layout felt almost too perfect to be real. After visiting several other venues, the moment they walked through The Sterling’s doors, she immediately knew they had found the one. The space balanced raw industrial character with refined elegance - exactly the blend they envisioned for their wedding day: modern with subtle touches of industrial chic.
Family played an essential role in shaping the celebration. Walter comes from a large, close-knit family - with 11 siblings and 13 nieces and nephews - so creating a day that meaningfully included both families was incredibly important to them.
Although they chose to hold the ceremony at The Sterling rather than in a traditional church, their officiant honored their Catholic upbringing by incorporating elements that beautifully reflected their shared faith.

The Aesthetic
The vision was simple: Let the beauty of the venue speak for itself.
A classic black-and-white palette created a clean, timeless foundation, complemented by thoughtful accents of greenery. The bride personally designed and arranged all of the florals herself - from her bouquet to the ceremony aisle arrangements - ensuring the details enhanced the space without competing with the venue’s striking architecture.
Throughout the celebration, meaningful touches added depth and sentiment, including a memorial table dedicated to loved ones who were present in spirit.
The reception dinner featured a traditional American-style buffet, but the evening’s most memorable moments came through the playful details. Guests enjoyed a late-night soft pretzel bar, ice cream sandwiches, and a lively High Noon bar set up directly on the dance floor. When the DJ played “Higher” by Creed, the energy in the room shifted instantly, with guests lifting one another into the air - including the bride and groom.

The Dress
Her dress journey felt like fate.
Months before her own engagement, she accompanied her best friend to try on gowns at Lovely Bride in Miami. There, she discovered the designs of Alyssa Kristin, and immediately fell in love. One style in particular captured her heart: Gemma.
When the time came to search for her own dress, she discovered that her hometown Lovely Bride boutique carried the designer, Alyssa Kristin. Gemma became the second dress she tried on. Even after exploring other options, she kept returning to it.
The reasons were clear - its effortless comfort, the striking square neckline, the elegant draping, and the subtle side slit that added a modern edge to the minimalist silhouette.
She personalized the gown with additional buttons along the godet and selected an American bustle to create a beautiful cascading effect during the reception. A pearl-detailed veil and opal jewelry from a small Etsy shop completed the look, a meaningful tribute to her late grandmother whose birthstone was opal.
Walter complemented her look in a classic black suit paired with a subtle paisley tie, while the bridesmaids wore soft shades of eucalyptus and sage from Azazie, tying seamlessly into the overall color palette.
She loved her gown so much that she chose to wear it for the entire celebration.

Favorite Moment
Walking down the aisle.
Seeing the room filled with the love and support of friends and family was unforgettable. But the moment that stayed with her most was meeting Walter’s eyes at the altar. The joy, certainty, and emotion in his expression is a memory she will carry with her forever.
